Corporation Commissioner urges to create awareness on 'Ease Of Living 2019-20' Survey

Coimbatore: On behalf of the Coimbatore Smart City Ltd. and Coimbatore City Corporation, the Commissioner on Monday appealed to the citizens to take part in the 'Ease Of Living 2019-20' survey and register their feedback.

Coimbatore: On behalf of the Coimbatore Smart City Ltd. and Coimbatore City Corporation, the Commissioner on Monday appealed to the citizens to take part in the 'Ease Of Living 2019-20' survey and register their feedback. 

The survey is hosted by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The important aspect of this assessment is collection of quality and reliable urban data through rigorous document check and physical audit. This would imbibe a culture of data driven governance in cities to effectively plan, implement and monitor city services in the future.

Addressing the a review meeting on tax collection, the Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, J Sravan Kumar urged the Zonal officers to expedite the work of collecting pending taxes. He directed them to organise special camps to collect taxes. 

The Commissioner also urged the officials to sensitise the people on the Ease Of Living 2019-20 Survey and educate them to participate in the survey.

"The last date for giving feedback, available only online, is February 29. People can register their feedback at the following link ccmc.gov.in/eol", he said.

Participation of more citizens would help the city improve its ranking in the “Ease of Living” index.

Assistant Commissioner (income) N. Annadurai, Assistant Commissioner V. Saravanan (accounts), R. Ravi (South), M. Selvan (East), Senthil Kumar Rathinam (North), A.J. Senthil Arasan (West) and Mahesh Kanagaraj (Central) and assistant revenue officers and tax collectors took part in the meeting.

About Ease Of Living 2019-20 Survey 

The survey aims to assess the ease of living of citizens living in the cities across three pillars of quality of life; economic ability; and sustainability under 14 categories (Education, Health, Housing & Shelter, WASH & SWM, Mobility, Safety & Security, Recreation, Economic Development, Economic Opportunities, Gini coefficient, Environment, Green spaces & building, Energy Consumption and City Resilience) and 50 indicators.
