Applications invited from women for obtaining Amma Two wheeler Subsidy for 2019-2020

Coimbatore: While retaining the minimum age limit to 18 years, the maximum age for eligibility for obtaining Amma two-wheeler subsidy was increased from 40 to 45 years by the State government. Reitrating the same, District Collector K. Rajamani has invited deserving women to apply for the subsidy under the Amma two wheeler scheme and benefit.

Coimbatore: While retaining the minimum age limit to 18 years, the maximum age for eligibility for obtaining Amma two-wheeler subsidy was increased from 40 to 45 years by the State government. Reitrating the same, District Collector K. Rajamani has invited deserving women to apply for the subsidy under the Amma two wheeler scheme and benefit. 

He informed that applications are invited for obtaining the subsidy for the year 2019-2020. The age for obtaining grant under this scheme has been increased from 40 to 45 years. Eligible applicants will be given a subsidy of Rs.25,000 or 50% of the cost of the vehicle, whichever is lower. And, Rs. 31,250 will be granted as subsidy for the differently-abled. 

He added that under the scheme gearless scooter models can also be purchased. However, all applicants should possess valid driving license and their annual income should not be more than RS. 2,50,000. There is no specification for educational qualification. 

"Women from hilly terrains, unmarried women, SC and ST women will be given priority. The applications are free of cost and can be obtained from the District Collectorate, Panchayat Union Office, Town Panchayat office, Municipal office, Corporation office and Corporation Zonal Offices from 10.00 AM to 5 PM", the Collector informed in the release. 

The District Collector has advised suitable candidates to make use of this scheme and benefit. 

Required documentation

The following documents need to be submitted along with the application.

Proof of Age, Residence proof (Aadhar card, Driving License, Voter ID-any one), Driving license, Work information and pay slips (to be obtained from the employer), Self employed people should furnish the certificate for self income and Passport size photograph.
