Vidya Senthilkumar was honoured with the prestigious "Yuva Sakthi" award. during the Women's day function.
Coimbatore: International Women's Day was celebrated jointly by Mahalingam Engineering College and Yuva Sakthi Welfare Association in Pollachi.
A corpus fund of Rs. 1 crore has been submitted to Manickham, chairman of NIA educational institutions on behalf of ”Yuva Sakthi” organization.
NIA Chairman Manickam, who delivered the keynote address said “In India, especially in Tamil Nadu, women work on par with men in factories. He said women are making good progress in all fields”.

Speaking on the occasion, Vidya Senthilkumar shared her experiences with CSR activities. Dr Revathi Subbulakshmi, Vice Principal, Senthamamizh College, Madurai delivered the international women's day address.
On the occasion, 5 girls who excelled in academics and various fields of NIA institutes were awarded awards and 11 girls were awarded scholarships of Rs.2.05 lakhs.
About 1,00,000 was raised through Yuvashakthi Women's Welfare Association. It is to be noted that the fund of Rs.85 lakhs has crossed Rs.1 crore so far this year. With the funds received from this fund, 2 girls from engineering colleges, 2 girls from polytechnic colleges and 2 girls from NIA colleges will be adopted for free education”
It is also proposed to adopt a total of 7 eligible girls, including 3 girls in the schools, and provide employment opportunities to them by Yuvasakthi, which will bear the entire cost of their education.
Hariharasudhan, Principal, NIA Educational Institutions, Dr. C. Ramasamy, Secretary, Rukmani Ramasamy, Coordinator, YuvaShakthi, Education Officer of schools, Headmasters and students of NIA Educational Institutions were present on the occasion.
