Sri Krishna College of Technology hosts 33rd Convocation for over 1000 graduates

The graduates were awarded their degrees by Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Union Minister of State for Education who highlighted the duty of colleges in India to not only ensure we have future leaders for business ventures but also entrepreneurs who can dream and create next big business ventures that can become globally-reputed organizations.



Coimbatore: Sri Krishna College of Technology (SKCT) held its 33rd Convocation at Sri Krishna Hall in its Kuniyamuthur campus in Coimbatore.



S Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee, Sri Krishna Institutions presided over the event, while K Adithya, Trustee, Sri Krishna Institutions welcomed the gathering. Dr. Subhas Sarkar, the Minister of State for Education, Ministry of Education Government of India was the Chief Guest.

M Balasubramaniam, Board Director, Global CXO-Digital Transformation Leader, Reimagining GCC Expert, VC-StartUp Mentor, D&I and SDG Advocate was the Guest of Honour and addressed the students and motivated them.

K Sundararaman, CEO, Sri Krishna Institutions, S Maragatham, Principal, SKCT, Heads of various Departments and from other institutions under Sri Krishna Institutions also participated in the Convocation. More than 1000 students received their degree certificates from the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.



Dr. Subhas Sarkar highlighted the duty of colleges in India to not only ensure we have future leaders for business ventures but also entrepreneurs who can dream and create next big business ventures that can become globally-reputed organizations. “The Government has made establishment of start-ups very simple and it is ready to support the youth with innovative ideas for establishing industries, especially in manufacturing and service sectors. By doing so, it will also help in solving the unemployment issue and also promote India as an export oriented manufacturing destination,” he added.

Commenting on the National Education Policy 2020, Dr. Subhas Sarkar reiterated that it was the single biggest change in the Indian education system in the last few decades. “The Union Government has worked tirelessly for the improvement of the Education Sector both at school and higher educational institutions level. The NEP provides great freedom to pursue a variety of courses, and it will help create well-groomed professionals at the end of one’s collegiate study,” he opined.
