'Press' not 'Crush' it, juicing the Cold-pressed way!

Coimbatore: Gulping a glass of juice or even a couple of glasses is the easy peasy way to add-up or refill vitamins and minerals to our body. However, doctors do not subscribe to this idea.

Eat not drink!

"Fruits have to be eaten not drunk. During the juice extraction process, most of the vital nutrients of the fruit is filtered as waste and only the water content is consumed as juice. Hence, it isn't a healthy option", opine doctors and health experts.

And, what if there is a technology that works magic on the fruits and extracts all essential minerals and vitamins at micro level..?

Let's Press it not Crush!

Yes, it is the Cold pressed extraction process that does that magic. Press it not crush it, is the mantra of cold pressed technology.

The term 'Cold-pressed' is no alien to us. Even the smallest of the grocery shop has a board saying 'Cold pressed oils (Mara cheku) available here'. Well, most of us are well-informed of the cold pressed oil extraction. However, not many of us are aware of cold pressed juices.

Nothing is lost!

It is proved that essential nutrients could be lost or diminished, due to the heat generated in the blades of the mixers during the grinding process. But with the Cold-pressed technology, which has been practiced since ancient time extracts 100% of the pulp retaining  all it's natural goodness.

“When I was in Delhi for a holiday last year, I saw this amazing kiosk that said your fruit isn’t crushed to juice, it is cold pressed to stay healthy. I found the line to be very striking, hence ordered for a juice. And, trust me, it was like I ate and drank as well. The goodness of the entire fruit was intact in the glass jar", shared Mrs. Priyanka, a travel enthusiast.

Exciting, isn't it! No worries, we Coimbatoreans need not travel that far to savour healthy cold pressed juices. And, thanks to 'Nectar' for making it possible right here.

“A year back, I started my cold pressed juice station 'Nectar' in Puliakulam. It was my son who introduced me to this technology. After meaningful studies and exploration, I understood that juices extracted out of mixies was void of all goodness. During the normal juice extraction process, the blades of the mixie gets heated up as they spin, thereby crushing all the priceless nutrients of the fruits and veggies. Sadly,  what is left is a colorful residue void of nutrients", noted Mrs.Josephine Celina, Co-Founder of 'Nectar'.

Inspired by the wholesome idea of cold pressed juice extraction, Mrs. Celina and her son Reuben Jasper Nicholas founded Nectar, a year back.

“The cold pressed juices at our store are free from preservatives, added colour, sugar and most importantly, water that dilutes the taste and value of the juice. As we all know, Vitamin C is found abundant in fruits and vegetables. For example, we assume that by consuming a glass of Amla juice, we get all the vitamins and minerals that the Amla entirely has. We are wrong!  The usual process of juicing sucks most of the vital nutrients and gives a diluted version of it for consumption", pointed Mrs. Celina.

"To the contrary, juices extracted through cold pressed process helps retains all the healthy components making the glass of juice almost equal to eating it", noted Mrs. Celina.

“Our juices have a shelf life of 3 days up to a week. Our must try juices include pomegranate, apple and not to miss our in-house customised versions as well. Cleansers, immunity boosting extracts like ABC (apple, beetroot and carrot) and Amla juices are our special", she added.

So, for the most of you who are on a lookout to give your body and health the utmost fruitfulness from vegetables and fruits, cold-pressed juices are a must try option.
