India's second-largest telecom company Vodafone has launched a new plan for its customers. Dubbed as the SuperWeek plan, it offers unlimited local and STD calling along with 500MB data at Rs 69. This plan comes with a validity of 7 days.
The SuperWeek can be purchased from mobile retail outlets, company's website and MyVodafone app.
Talking about the SuperWeek plan, Avneesh Khosla, associate director, consumer business, Vodafone India said, "We, at Vodafone, believe in providing the best network, service experience and value to our customers. With SuperWeek, the key objective is to offer a pocket friendly and affordable unlimited plan that will appeal to all prepaid consumers. This plan will further enable our customers to remain confidently connected and enjoy a worry-free Vodafone SuperNetTM4G experience on our best network ever."
Recently, Vodafone joined hands with Indian smartphone maker Micromax to launch the what is claimed to be the cheapest 4G handset in India at Rs 999 -- Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra. Despite its claims, Rs 999 is not the amount users would have to pay initially.
Interested customers would have to pay Rs 2,899 for the Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra as a down payment. They would also have to recharge the smartphone for Rs 150 for 36 months (3 years), which comes down to Rs 5,400 over and above the Rs 2,899. After 18 months (1.5 years) users will get Rs 900 cash back and Rs 1,000 after another 1.5 years. This means users will get back Rs 1,900 back, which when deducted from the price tag of Rs 2,899 (original price of the handset), comes to an effective price of Rs 999. The cash back will be received in user's Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.
The device can be bought from Vodafone Stores and some other offline retailers starting November.
