Nolii's wireless Rise lamp also functions as a charger and an alarm clock

Layer's first wireless tech product for new brand Nolii is a lamp that charges your phone and also functions as a "digital sunrise" alarm clock.

Called Rise, the lamp is powered by a battery fitted in the base, which offers up to 12 hours of light.

It can charge one device wirelessly, via an induction charging pad that sits at the top of the lamp, or up to two devices via USB cables connected to the base.

Accompanying the lamp is an app for tablets and smartphones that allows users to remotely dim the lamp. You can also program a "digital sunrise" alarm, which causes the lamp to slowly illuminate a room – imitating the rising sun.

"With these features, Rise becomes a functional hub within the home or office that can easily alter the atmosphere or mood of any given environment," said Layer.

Layer, the studio led by designer Benjamin Hubert, teamed up with Asad Hamir, a tech entrepreneur and founder of eyewear brand Kite to launch the Nolii brand in September 2017.

Their aim is to disrupt the tech market by ridding it of "chaotic cords and broken cables". They already offer a range of accessories, but this is brand's first tech product.

The minimal lamp is made from mouth-blown, lightly frosted glass, and features speckled, matt plastic details. Both lightweight and waterproof, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Users can turn the lamp on and off, as well as adjusting the brightness, via a touch button on the base. When the lamp is disconnected from a main power source, LED indicators on the base display the battery level.

Rise is available in three different colourways: cement grey with indigo details, moss green with mint green details, and oyster with peach details.

The lamp was unveiled at design-junction as part of this year's London Design Festival, which ran from 15 to 23 September.
