Experts say, a modification to the usual viral sickness would be the cause of the current increase in cases, resulting in increased fever and sore throat. In this regard, the health department has advised the public not to panic. The department insists the public consult a doctor in case of fever and avoid self-medication.

Simultaneously, an increase in the number of outpatients due to fever has been reported. People of all age groups are vulnerable to this specific infection. The reported symptoms are high fever, sore throat, cough and fatigue for 4 days.
Deputy Director of District Health Department, Aruna has informed the public not to panic as the viral fever might have been caused by climate change. Measures are being taken to prevent fever in the district.
20 to 30 people are being admitted as inpatients in government hospitals and primary health centres every day.
It was informed that special viral fever camps are functioning throughout the district where 40 medical teams are working while prevention activities are being carried out through 80 camps in Coimbatore and suburban areas. Also in rural areas, three groups per locality conduct activities through camps at two places per day.
