Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Sathya Pratha Sahoo released the final voters' list today. Accordingly, there are 6,20,41,179 voters in Tamil Nadu. Of these, 3,489,866 are male voters, 3,15,43,286 are female voters and 8,027 are from the third gender.
Sholinganallur assembly constituency in Chengalpattu district topped the list with the highest number of voters at 6,66,295. It is followed by Kavundampalayam assembly constituency in Coimbatore district with 4,57,408 voters.
Chennai Harbour assembly constituency in Chennai district is the constituency with the lowest number of voters in Tamil Nadu. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1,70,125. It is followed by Kilvelur assembly constituency in Nagapattinam district at the second position. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1,75,128.
The names of 3,310 non-resident voters have been included in the final electoral rolls. The names of 8 non-resident voters have been included in the electoral rolls during the special summary revision period. So far, 4,48,138 voters have been identified in the electoral rolls and marked as differently-abled voters. A total of 4,66,374 voters in the age group of 18-19 years have been included in the special summary revision.
The electoral rolls can also be found on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer( CEO) called elections.tn.gov.in. Voters can check their names on it.
The process of continuous revision of electoral rolls is currently in progress. Eligible persons who have attained the age of 18 years as on 01.01.2023, if their name is not included in the electoral roll, can apply through the following methods:-
The application can be made by submitting Form 6 at the office of the Electoral Registration Officer. You can also apply online on the www.nvsp.in
Advance applications received during the special summary revision period and continuous revision period will be considered by the respective Electoral Registration Officer in the respective quarters during the continuous revision period. A voter can apply in Form 6B till 31.03.2023 for linking Aadhaar number with his voter ID card.
As on 04.01.2023, 3.82 crore (61.60%) Aadhaar numbers have been collected in Tamil Nadu for linking with voter ID cards. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, all the electoral registration officers have been informed to provide two printed electoral roll copies to recognised political parties.
Further, a soft copy of the consolidated final electoral roll (without photograph) can be obtained from the Electoral Registration Officer at the rate of Rs.100/- per Assembly constituency by paying a fee of Rs.100/-. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, district contact centres have been established covering all the districts in Tamil Nadu.
