Coimbatore:The next phase of the mega vaccination drive organized by the Tamil Nadu Government and the District Administration will be held here on Saturday.
“The Covid 19 vaccines are being administered daily in rural and urban areas. Vaccination has been arranged in all Government Primary Health Centres. So far, 96 percent of the people above 18 years of age have been vaccinated with the first dose and 84 percent with the second in Coimbatore district.â€, said Collector Sameeran in his statement.
Informing that the 20th Mega Vaccination Drive camp will be held on Saturday, 29th January, he said that it is proposed to conduct 532 camps in rural areas and 215 camps in the corporation areas.
The camp will be held from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Apart from this, the first jab of the vaccination is being administered to school students in the age group of 15 to 18 years from January 3.
So far, 1.17 lakh people have been vaccinated. With the infection spreading at a rapid rate, the district collector and the heath body have insisted on adhering to Covid prevention guidelines, while also getting the vaccination.
