The District Collector of Nilgiris has stated that public shall apply and get goats and sheep through the Sheep Supply Scheme.
The Nilgiris: The Nilgiris District Collector Amrit stated public shall apply for the Sheep Supply Scheme.
Applications are invited for Sheep Supply Scheme through which public will get 5 goats and sheep. District Collector S.P. Amrit in his press release stated, that women shall benefit under the 100% Subsidy Sheep Supply Scheme in Nilgiris district.
The Government has announced 5 goats and sheep for widows, women abandoned by their husbands and the destitute at 100% subsidy. This scheme will be implemented for a cost of Rs.76.63-crores to transform women into entrepreneurs. A target supply of 2,000 goats at the rate of 5 goats and sheep each for 400 beneficiaries in 4 Panchayat Unions in Nilgiris District has been made.
Applicants, (women) should not possess any livestock, own land and should be aged below 60 years. Application forms should be received, completed and submitted to the concerned VAOs by 9th of December. Application forms for the scheme shall be obtained from the veterinary dispensaries near their respective areas of residence.
