1.5 lakh people targeted to be administered with both doses of the vaccine against Covid-19 on a single day; TN on the whole targets 20 lakh people
Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Corporation will host 1500 vaccination camps in the city on September 12, aiming to administer vaccines for 1.5 lakh people on a single day.
According to Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran, “One major preventive measure against the battle of Covid is the vaccine. The Coimbatore GH, ESI, and all other Government hospitals provide 24-hour services through the vaccination camps.â€
With the state targeting a magnum opus on September 12 to administer 20 lakh vaccines for public, Coimbatore city will administer 1.5 lakh jabs on Sunday. Special camps will be organized in Government Hospitals, Government primary health centers, Anganwadi centres and Nutritious meal centres in the city.
The camp is scheduled to begin from 7 am and end at 7 pm. All those above 18 years of age and those who are awaiting their second jab can get their vaccination done on September 12.

The meeting was attended by officials including CCMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara, District Revenue Officer B S Leela Alex, Pollachi Sub Collector Thackeray Shubham Dnyandeorao, Sub Collector (Training) A Saranya, District Rural Development Agency Project Director Kavitha, District Health Department Joint Director Chandra and Deputy Director P Aruna.
