4 lakh Covishield vaccines arrive in Chennai by air


Coimbatore: As the second wave of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu has had a major impact and is gradually declining, the Tamil Nadu government has been urging the central government to provide more vaccinations. The central government had said it would send 7 lakh vaccines in the third phase.

Today, 4 lakh vaccines arrived at the Chennai airport by air from Pune making people happy. The health department said that the vaccine will now be given daily hereon. The Tamil Nadu government is keen to vaccinate everyone before the third wave as the second wave of coronavirus has hit Tamil Nadu.

Two lakh people are vaccinated every day. However, vaccination work has been stopped in some places due to shortage of vaccines. The vaccine provided by the Central Government to Tamil Nadu is not adequate. The Tamil Nadu government has been claiming that the occasional vaccination provided by the central government does not meet the one-day requirement. Thus, the demand for additional vaccination for Tamil Nadu has intensified. The central government had set aside 42 lakh vaccines for June and provided an additional 7 lakh vaccines. For July it has set aside 71 lakh vaccines for Tamil Nadu.

Four lakh Covishield vaccines arrived at the Chennai airport from Pune. The vaccine arrived in 34 parcels by Indigo Airlines flight. They have been sent by air-conditioned vehicle to the medical warehouse in Periyamedu. People are happy that the vaccine have arrive in Chennai
