So far, only frontline workers and people above 45-years-old were declared as eligible to vaccinate. However, keeping in mind the grave situation in India, centre has ramped up the coronavirus vaccination drive in the country, by announcing on April 19 a "liberalised and accelerated" phase 3 strategy of COVID-19 vaccination from May 1 allowing everyone above the age of 18 to be eligible for vaccination.
The country presently has two vaccines at --Covishield and Covaxin. Just days before the registration, the Tamil Nadu directorate of public health and preventive medicine has listed out the step by step registration process.
Here’s how one can register using CoWin app:
Visit the CoWin app. cowin.gov.in
Select date and centre for vaccinating
People between 18-45-years-old can get their vaccines only in private designated centres
A confirmation message for vaccine will be sent to the phone number that was used while registering it.
Registration sheet and an identification photo of an individual should be carried to the centre to get vaccinated.
