Corporation Commissioner requests city public to give polio drops to their kids below 5 years.
Coimbatore: Under the National Polio Eradication Campaign, polio drop camp is scheduled to happen on 17th January across every area in Coimbatore.
Polio drop camp is scheduled to happen from 7 am to 5 pmacross the city.
As a part of the National Polio Eradication Campaign, babies born on that day at district primary health centres, government and private hospitals are given polio drops. Children below 5 years are also given polio drops.
As an initiative to provide polio drops to children arriving from other states 5 mobile polio drop vans will be circling near Railway station and other government offices along with camps set-up near 5 bus stands in the city.
Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian who announced the details about the polio camp said that vaccinating children below 5 years is mandatory for their health.
He also advised the parents to consider giving polio drops to their children to have a polio-free life.
