Coimbatore: Various measures are being taken by the District Administration to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It is being constantly insisted that the owners of industrial units must follow all the requisite measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 amid their employees.

It is therefore being insisted that the owners of the industries strictly follow the measures that are needed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections.

Each day the employees of private industries should be checked for symptoms of COVID-19. Social distancing should be be ensured all the time and frequent use of hand sanitizers should be emphasized. Those employees arriving from other states and districts must obtain certificates that declare that they do not have COVID.

Despite these measures, quite many labourers working in Annur, Sulur, Madukkarai and Pollachi have been diagnosed with COVID-19. This has caused fear in the minds of their coworkers and the public in the vicinity.

This being the case, the District Administration has insisted that COVID-19 testing must be undertaken for all employees arriving from other states and other districts. They must be declared free of the disease before being brought into the district and permitted to work.

It has been reiterated that if the employee of a business contracts the disease because of the negligence of the management, then the business would be sealed and legal action will also be initiated against the management.

The District Collector has ordered the officials from the departments of Labour Welfare, Revenue, Industrial Security and Internal Affairs to constantly inspect the industries and ascertain all the necessary measures are being observe.
