TASMAC shops to be open from May 7 in Tamil Nadu - CM

Chennai: Owing to people travelling to neighbouring states to procure liquor, the Tamil Nadu State government has issued an announcement confirming opening of TASMAC and liquor outlets in the State.


Chennai: Owing to people travelling to neighbouring states to procure liquor, the Tamil Nadu State government has issued an announcement confirming opening of TASMAC and liquor outlets in the State from 10 AM to 5 PM.

The official order states that liquor shops in containment areas will not be allowed to function. The State has vested the responsibility of social distancing and other norms of lockdown to the TASMAC outlets and private liquor stores. Additional manpower has to be deployed to ensure social distancing, the statement said.

However, permission has not been granted to open bars.
