Coimbatore: In a bid to control the spread of Novel Coronavirus, the department of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSAAI) have instructed all tea shops and hotels to wash glasses with proper cleaning liquids.
Briefing on the precautionary measures, Dr. K. Kalaiselvan, District Designated Food and Safety Officer informed that all shopkeepers, especially tea shops are advised to wash glasses with hot water and using proper cleaning fluids.
Street vendors those sell food items like lassi and buttemilk should refrain from providing food in uncleaned glasses, he added.
They are also advised to provide hand sanitisers or soaps to the customers.
"Hotel employees should wash their hands at least 5 to 6 times a day. Hotel and tea shops should stick a chart explaining Coronavirus prevention methods. Hotels should maintain hygiene and should not deploy persons suffering from fever, cold cough or flu symptoms", he insisted.
