Addressing the meeting, the Commissioner insisted that, "All passengers must carry valid ID's, when they travel. Further online booking of tickets cannot be done by another person, other than the passenger. Similarly, no passengers should be boarded on or off, without providing valid ID proof."
He urged that the bus/hotel operators should extend full co-operation to the police, if intercepted.
"Likewise, all the parcels that are booked in omni buses must be checked and validated thoroughly before on boarding or off-loading at the designated places", the Commissioner reiterated.
Briefing about other safety measures, the Commissioner said, "All buses, hotels and lodges are expected to keep a record of their CCTV camera footages. Under no circumstance, must the CCTV be turned off. Hotel owners and lodge owners/ management must insist on verifying the ID cards and documents of other district, other state and foreign guests."
"If any discrepancies, or doubts rise, the police department must be alerted immediately", he added.
"If any of the above guidelines are not adhered, the particular omni bus, hotel or lodge owners/ management will face to face legal consequences. It could lead to confiscation of buses and license of hotels will be cancelled", warned the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner.
