Coimbatore: In a bid to explain the needs and importance of BS-VI vehicles and to avoid hectic registration procedures of BS-IV vehicles manufactured, officials from the Regional Transport Office (RTO) convened a meeting with vehicles dealers in Coimbatore at Central Regional Transport office here, on Thursday.
Coimbatore: In a bid to explain the needs and importance of BS-VI vehicles and to avoid hectic registration procedures of BS-IV vehicles manufactured, officials from the Regional Transport Office (RTO) convened a meeting with vehicles dealers in Coimbatore at Central Regional Transport office here, on Thursday.

The meeting was held after the State Transport department on Monday issued a directive to all RTOs across the State to convene meeting with vehicle dealers to educate them on BS-IV Vehicle registrations.
RTO officials explained the importance and procedures to follow for registering BS-IV vehicles. "The BS-IV vehicles should be registered before 31st March and no BS-IV vehicles will be registered from April 1, onwards. In case of selling BS-IV vehicles to consumers and failing to register before the given date, the sale of the vehicle will be considered as illegal and the dealer should refund the amount to the customer."
The meeting was attended by 150 dealers in and around the city.
J.K Baskaran, RTO, Central, K Kumaravel, RTO North and Saravanan, RTO South and Motor vehicle inspectors, Shanmugasundaram, Vishwanathan, Senthil Kumar, Velumani, Nirmala Devi, Balasubramaniam and Vijaya Kumar were present in the meeting.
