According to the Tamil Nadu Hostels and Homes for Women and Children (Regulation) Act, all hostels for women and children in Coimbatore district must be registered, informed the District Collector K. Rajamani.
In a notice issued by the District Collector, he has stated that the hostel facility - children's hostel, ladies hostel, working women hostel run by government, NGO's, factories, organisations, private and religious groups must be registered under the Tamil Nadu Hostels and Homes for Women and Children (Regulation) Act, 2014 (Rule 2015)."
"Owners of unregistered hostels, will be punishable with two years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs.50,000. Those hostels who have not registered have to initiate the process of registration with immediate effect", he noted.
