Coimbatore: "Special Camp for Voter’s List inclusion, deletion and correction of names in the Electoral roll will be held on February 14, 2020 at all Polling Booths in Coimbatore District", informed Satyabrata Sahoo, Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu at a meeting held at the District Collectorate here on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: "Special Camp for Voter’s List inclusion, deletion and correction of names in the Electoral roll will be held on February 14, 2020 at all Polling Booths in Coimbatore District", informed Satyabrata Sahoo, Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu at a meeting held at the District Collectorate here on Wednesday.
Addressing at the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer said that it is the duty of every eligible voter to exercise their franchise in a democratic country. "From time to time, the Electoral Commission of India organises special camps to ensure all eligible voters are added to the electoral roll. Also, existing voters who need to amend their address and names can make of the opportunity", he told.
"Accordingly, those who have completed 18 years of age on or before 31.12.2001 are eligible to add their name in the voter list. While, Form 7 can be used to remove names from the record, Form 8 has to be used to amend the existing record. Voters who have shifted within the same constituency can use Form 8-A for revision of details and form 6-I for adding name if shifted to a different constituency", apprised the Chief Electoral Officer of TN.
He added that ahead of the upcoming State elections, work for preparing electoral draft will commence from December 23, 2020 to February 14, 2021. Forms for nomination, deletion and revision of voter lists will be available across all polling stations, divisional/zonal offices, municipal/ corporation offices.
A total of 1,08,596 forms were received through online. The forms will be scrutinised by the polling station officers, followed by the polling booth officer, supervisor, assistant voter registration officer and voter registration officer before adding to the electoral draft, he said.
Subsequently, the Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu and Chief Secretary of the State, Satyabrata Sahoo presented a specially designed voter ID card for the visually impaired.

The meeting was attended by District Collector, K Rajamani, District Revenue Officer Ramadurai Murugan, Corporation Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Ramaswamy, Pollachi Collector Vaidhyanathan, Revenue divisional Officer Suresh and others were present.
