Coimbatore: Stepping into the 16th polio-free year, the State government had announced of conducting intensive pulse polio campaigns on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at more than 50,000 centres set up at primary health centres, bus stands, airport, government hospitals, government medical college hospitals, noon-meal centres and schools. Mobile teams will also be available to immunise children who are travelling and those living in inaccessible areas.

Mobile teams will also be available to immunise children who are travelling and those living in inaccessible areas.
Requesting the parents of children below five years of age to come forward to immunise their wards, Corporation Commissioner of Coimbatore, J Sravan Kumar said that camps will be open from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm.
He also added that it is completely safe to administer polio drops and asked the parents to bring their wards, without fail even if the child is unwell.
