Tapioca is the third most cultivated crop in the tropics. The world production of tapioca was 288- million tonnes in 2015. The price forecasting scheme of Centre for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies have analysed tapioca prices from Salem market for the last fifteen years. The raw tapioca tuber is expected to fetch anywhere between Rs.9,000 and Rs.10,000 per tonne. The centre has also advised the farmers to make their selling decision accordingly.
