TNAU hosts International Workshop 'Foodxplore’22' at its Coimbatore campus to commemorate World Food Day

'Foodxplore’22,' the Industry Institute Interaction Workshop was inaugurated by Dr. R Thamizh Vendan, Registrar, TNAU, Coimbatore on Thursday, October 20. Dr. Sanu Jacob, Director, FSSAI (Southern Region), Chennai graced the occasion and delivered the keynote address on the role of FSSAI in food security.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Department of Food Process Engineering, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Coimbatore organised an International Workshop 'Foodxplore’22' on October 20, 2022 to commemorate 'World Food Day' with the theme ‘Sustainable Growth of Food Processing Sector for Food and Nutritional Security.’



'Foodxplore’22,' the Industry Institute Interaction Workshop was inaugurated by Dr. R Thamizh Vendan, Registrar, TNAU, Coimbatore. Dr. Sanu Jacob, Director, FSSAI (Southern Region), Chennai graced the occasion and delivered the keynote address on the role of FSSAI in food security.

Er. G Gowtham Siddarth, Managing Director, M/s. Linga Agri Machinery Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore shared his experience on being a successful entrepreneur. Dr. M Balakrishnan, Professor and Head, Food Process Engineering welcomed the dignitaries and enlightened the importance of sustainable growth of the food processing sector. Dr. A Raviraj, Dean, Agricultural Engineering addressed the demand for efficient food distribution system and threw light on the Central Government and State Government schemes concerning the millet promotion and technical support in its expansion.

The panel of experts, TNAU alumni from various domains of food processing viz., academia, leading food industries like Nestle, Pepsico, Cadbury and international research organizations from different parts of the world addressed the gathering with the focus on futuristic processing techniques for Food and Nutritional Security, which is the need of the hour.

Dr. R Thiyagarajan, Associate Professor, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, AEC&RI, TNAU, Kumulur delivered the vote of thanks.
