The Supreme Court has extended its earlier interim ban on sale of genetically modified mustard. Mustard is an important crop which is cultivated during the months of October-November. A case was filed in Supreme Court seeking a ban on the sale of GM mustard. Thus, in this regard the Supreme Court had ordered an interim ban on the sale of GM mustard up to 17th of this month.

He argued that “Government is cultivating the GM Mustard in many fields without any experiments being conducted on them.
