The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy S8 may look like the Weasley twins, but they’re really The Mountain and The Hound

Samsung's Galaxy S series and the Note series are the overachieving brothers in the smartphone industry. They are known to usher in new trends, shatter records while being visually stunning. With the Note 8 now out , the 8 Series flagships of Samsung now feel like they are as perfect as the Nolan brothers. Some might even say they are more like the Weasley twins as it's hard to tell them apart, visually.

But there's so much difference between the two that they are really The Mountain and The Hound. (CLEGANEBOWL HYPE.)

It's true. The Galaxy S8 is the older brother here. It comes in a new shining armour in the form of the stunning Infinity Display. There's raw power packed in and it can crush any opponent in a sparring match.

The Galaxy Note 8, on the other hand, is The Hound . It is literally kissed by fire. It carries a longsword in the form of the S-Pen. And just like The Hound, it is now blessed by the Lord of Light and can see things with the dual cameras on its back.

We don't care if the Game of Thrones showrunners give us Cleganebowl anymore. We have our own Clegane brothers now.

In the battle between the brothers, the Galaxy S8 has the upper hand of being there longer than its brother, decimating every other rival with the edge-to-edge Super AMOLED QHD+ display with HDR support baked in. It has brute power underneath in the form of Samsung's in-house 10nm processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. It is really the most feared knight in the whole of Westeros, err, the smartphone industry. True, an Oberyn in the form of the OnePlus 5 can nick a cut here and there, but it can very well turn it over and crush it's skull if it wants to.

The Galaxy Note 8, on the other hand, is a skilled warrior with a scarred past. But just like the Hound, who redeemed himself after meeting the Brotherhood Without Banners, the Note 8 cannot held up for its previous crimes. As for his weapons, he has in his disposal the vision of the dual cameras, that gives 2X zoom without loss in clarity and the S-Pen. The camera can do even more. It can control the background blur in real time and take two photos at once - one zoomed in, and another with everything in it. Both the lenses are also optically stabilised to give steady night time shots and videos.

The S-Pen now is smarter than ever. It has a flexible tip and 4,000 levels of pressure sensitivity. It can translate words in a single swipe and can even take memos when the screen is off.

But just like The Hound, who developed a fear of the fire after being burned by it, the Note 8 too comes with a smaller battery after the battery started exploding last year and Samsung had to recall all its units. It isn't over that trauma it seems and that might be the only drawback in the stellar warrior that The Hound is.
