GURUGRAM: A partial lunar eclipse will be observable from across India on August 7 and 8. Monday's lunar eclipse is associated with the upcoming solar eclipse, which is to take place on August 21.
Dr Mila Mitra, scientific officer, SPACE India, said, "A partial lunar eclipse takes place when the earth moves in between the moon and the sun, but the three are not exactly aligned. The only part of the moon comes under earth's shadow, and that part will look darker.
"The partial lunar eclipse will be visible with the naked eye. However, for a better view, SPACE India will set up special telescopes at DLF Cyber City and Leisure Valley Park for free.
Observers in Africa, Asia and Australia will see the partial lunar eclipse in its entirety. The central part of the eclipse zone, where the moon is at the meridian when the eclipse occurs, will be over Central Asia and India.
