Elon Musk, the founder, and CEO of SpaceX has repeatedly been talking about settling in Mars. The best part is, he is not even joking.
So, here comes the ideologies of Elon Musk. According to Musk, humans will be very much capable of colonizing Mars as soon as in 2062. Musk, mostly like Stephen Hawking, believes that the lifetime of the earth is being counted. In this mindset, all that SopaceX plans is to survive the doomsday. According to Musk, after Earth, Mars is the next possible step for mankind. So, in case we have to lose the earth, Musk believes that we should be dusted along with earth or get a home on Mars so that we can survive.
The new reusability of rockets theory makes travel to Mars a “not so big deal” sort of scene. Right when the first rocket was successfully reused, the idea of traveling to Mars became a bit less costly that it was previously. But yes, it is still a bomb in the packet, but the packet size belongs to a few more people than before.
With this possibility, Elon Musk has said that the shifting of people from the Earth to Mars should happen in thousands of trips. Colonizing the Mars with a million people should happen in a term of 40n years to 100 years.
As a start to the mission, a man possessed mission to Mars may start somewhere as near as 2022.

Oh fine! It is quite exciting to know that we will be able to colonize in 2062. But then, there are several unanswered questions. What will they eat in the Mars? What is the possibility of breathing oxygen? The biggest of all is if humans are supposed to colonize there, what will reproduction be like? The effects of lower gravity on the fetus is a big threat. Even if the baby is healthy to where it was born, will it be possible for it to come back to earth and adapt? There is no study so far about reproduction outside the earth. Humans should do a lot more research before this happens.
