Coimbatore: The Anamalai Regulated Market witnessed a robust copra auction this Tuesday and is scheduled again on Thursday. As per the routine, the latest auction unfolded on May 9, witnessing active participation from the community's farmers.
The auction featured 117 bales of copra, with contributions from 15 local farmers. Premium quality copra reached a maximum selling price of Rs 9,612 per quintal for 55 bales, while the second quality copra saw 62 bales selling for up to Rs 8,129 per quintal. In total, 52.65 quintals of copra were sold, amounting to a substantial Rs 4.949 lakhs in sales.
