On the occasion of Onam festival, students dressed in traditional Kerala attire at AJK College in Navakarai, Coimbatore celebrated Onam with great fervour and enthusiasm.
Coimbatore: Students of a private college in Coimbatore celebrated on the occasion of Onam festival with great enthusiasm.
Onam festival is celebrated by Malayalees. Onam is celebrated as the festival of King Mahabali when he comes to see malayalees on thiruvonam star day.

Onam, which is celebrated for 10 days, is celebrated for 10 days and malayalam-speaking people are getting ready to welcome King Mahabali by decorating their homes with athapoo kolam. Special pujas are performed and they wear traditional attire and welcome the traditional Thiruvadhirai kali (dance) of Kerala.
While Malayalees from all over the world are celebrating this festival, onam festival is being celebrated at AJK College in Navakarai, Coimbatore. Students from each discipline marched in processions over two kilometres to play musical instruments and chendai drums.

The students and girls danced to the tune of the instruments and expressed their happiness.

Following this, the girls dressed in traditional Kerala costumes danced as if they were not inferior.

The procession again culminated at the college.

On this occasion, the girls dressed in the traditional attire of Kerala dressed in attapoo kolam welcomed king Mahabali and performed thiruvadhirai dance. It is noteworthy that mahabali made the onlookers dance to the thiruvadhirai kali to welcome the king with the sound of chendai melam.
