A revised framework to conduct various competitions for Government middle and high school students from Classes 6 to 9 has been circulated by the Dept. of Education to enhance its objective.
Coimbatore: The Department of School Education has remodelled the action plan for the year 2022- 2023 regarding competitions to be held at Middle schools, High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools. The competitions are resuming two years after the pandemic.
The Ministry of Education had earlier mentioned in the Legislative Assembly that various clubs including the Environment Club, Finance Club and the Literature Club had been inactive since the onset of Covid. A revised framework to conduct various competitions for Government middle and high school students from Classes 6 to 9 has been circulated to enhance its objective.
The listed competitions will be conducted in three levels: intra-school, zonal and district. Winners of the competition will be awarded a world tour. The ministry has enforced a set of modified regulations to recognize the students' talents.
One of the important and influential parts is the film screening session for the students. The school-level screening of the movies is scheduled from February 13-17. The screening on zonal levels is set to take place from February 20 -22, followed by the district-level screening on February 27 and 28.
The movies scheduled to be screened for students are The Kid (1921), Children of Heaven (1997), The Red Balloon (1956), Gubb Chigalu (2008), Shwaas (2004), Modern Times (1936) and Malli (1998).
Simultaneously, Club of Literature, Rainbow Club and others will conduct competitions like short filmmaking, quiz, rapid-fire, script writing, photography, poster designing, acting and many such activities. The industry-based representatives and artists will serve as the jury panel for the respective contests.
Oratorical, essay writing and story completion contests are scheduled by the Literature club for which native writers and teachers will administer on the jury panel.
