Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore and Bengaluru's Central Silk Board signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on December 22 for facilitating Students’ Training / Postgraduate Research.

Three delegates from Central Silk Board (CSB), Bengaluru visited TNAU to complete the agreement signing process in person.
Dr. S Manimegalai, Professor & Head, Department of Sericulture, FC & RI, Mettupalayam welcomed the gathering. Dr. N Senthil, Dean (SPGS), TNAU, Coimbatore and Dr. S Manthira Moorthy, Scientist – D, CSB, Bengaluru in their introductory talk highlighted the importance of the academic collaboration and the way forward.

The signing authorities Dr. R TamizhVendan, Registrar, TNAU, Coimbatore and Dr. B T Sreenivasa, Director (Tech.) & Member Secretary (i/c), CSB, Bengaluru signed the agreement in the presence of Dr. V Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU, Coimbatore. The Vice-Chancellor emphasized on the strengthening of this collaboration for the benefit of the students.
University officials Dr. K T Parthiban, Dean (Forestry), Dr. R Ravikesavan, Director (CPBG) and Dr. K N Ganesan, Professor & Head, Department of Forage Crops from TNAU along with Dr. G R Manjunatha, Scientist-C from CSB, Bengaluru attended the signing ceremony and graced the occasion. The meeting ended up with the concluding remarks from Dr. S V Krishnamoorthy, Professor & Head, Department of Agricultural Entomology, TNAU, Coimbatore.
