The inaugural session happened in the morning on Wednesday where Dr D Saravanan, Principal, KCT welcomed the gathering.

Parenting indeed is a big challenge especially with the changing times in the globalised world, he said adding that information technology has transformed the world and the real challenge is to raise children by introducing them to the indigenous art and cultural heritage.
He asked parents to create conducive atmosphere at home, so that their wards can excel in their chosen fields.

“We as an education institution doing our part through Swami Vivekananda study centre, Mahatma Gandhi Study centre and a space for Yoga and Meditation a course for human excellence. Only if we equip them our culture, they will come to fulfil our dreams of developing this country,†he said.

Addressing the student, Shri Shankar Vanavaryar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions said they are the 39th batch of KCT as the institution steps into 40th year of its inception.
Thanking the parents for choosing KCT, he said the institution has a vision to transform young people as nation developers. “We are willing to listen to good ideas and incorporate it. This institution is where we partner with our students in creating a progressive ecosystem. It is very important that parents are also part of the ecosystem as mentors, adjutant lecturers and give us ideas,†he said.
Stressing on the importance of academic performance, marks, results and placements in the present world, he said exposure to arts, sports, research, innovation, physical and mental health are equally important.
Many parents must have encouraged the students to work on getting good marks and academics activities in their school. But we request you now to motivate them to have a holistic life and vision ahead as everything else is equally important,†he said.
He emphasised on the need to teach students life skills. KCT is an institution which works on many of those opportunities, he said.
