Of the 21 participating teams from SKCET in the SIH 2022 across the country, 9 of the teams emerged victorious.
Coimbatore: The Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology's Nine Teams created a world record with back-to-back wins at the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022.
All the 21 participating teams from SKCET were scrutinized by a team of experts formulated within the Institution, under the dynamic mentorship and guidance of the Principal, Dr. J Janet before they set out for the grand finale. Of the 21 teams that participated in the SIH 2022 across the country, 9 of the teams emerged victorious.

Eight teams from SKCET have won First Prizes to the tune of Rs.8,00,000 for 8 problem statements addressing societal needs under the Ministries - Ministry of Culture, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Ayush, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL) under the Ministry of Education, and under the AICTE. One Team-Tech Mutants was awarded the Special Category Prize for their phenomenal solution to the problem statement under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY).
At the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 - Software Edition, four teams from SKCET comprising 24 students mentored by 4 expert faculty members won first prizes to the tune of Rs. 4,00,000 and at the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 - Hardware Edition, five teams from SKCET comprising 29 students mentored by 4 expert faculty members won four first prizes to the tune of Rs. 4,00,000 and the acclaimed Special Category Award.
S Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Sri Krishna Institutions congratulated and celebrated the victory with the students and faculty mentors. Further to motivate the students, the management of Sri Krishna Institutions awarded an additional cash prize of Rs.1,00,000 to each winning team, commemorating their success at the Smart India Hackathon 2022 (Software and Hardware Edition).
The Principal, Dr. J Janet, exclaimed that the intense mentorship and guidance has paid rich dividends at the national front. The Principal also met with the winning teams in person and congratulated them. The Deans, Heads of the Departments and faculty members of SKCET also congratulated the students and faculty mentors on their victory.
The Smart India Hackathon 2022 is a nationwide initiative by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell to provide students a platform to solve some of the pressing problems of the Government, Ministries, Departments, Industries, and other Organizations, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving.
It is worth noting that SKCET is the one of the prominent institutions across the nation to produce 9 smashing wins of 8 First prizes and 1 Special Category Award at the Smart India Hackathon 2022 (Software and Hardware edition). With this winning streak, SKCET continues to prove its academic prowess at the National Hackathon year-after-year.
