The NEET exam will be held at seven centres in Coimbatore city - Kendriya Vidyalaya at Sowripalayam, Mettupalayam, Annur, Eachanari, Kannampalayam, Kurumbapalayam and Sulur on the outskirts.
Coimbatore: Students who have completed Plus 2 will have to clear the NEET entrance exam to get admission in medical courses and naturopathy courses called AYUSH.
Accordingly, the 'NEET' entrance exam for MBBS and BDS courses is being held today at 3,500 centres across the country. A total of 18.72 lakh students will be appearing for the exam.
NEET Exam will be held today at seven centres in Coimbatore city namely Kendriya Vidyalaya at Sowripalayam, Mettupalayam, Annur, Eachanari, Kannampalayam, Kurumbapalayam and Sulur on the outskirts.
The documents, including the hall ticket and Aadhaar card of the students, were verified and the students were allowed to enter the examination centre from 11.45 am onwards.
Such electronic items, including mobile phones, papers, notes, etc., are not allowed to be carried inside and one should not wear a cap, watch, belt, shoe, etc. Ornaments such as earrings, nose rings, head 'clips' also should not be worn inside the exam hall.
Students should also not wear a full-sleeved shirt. Various such restrictions have been imposed, such as wearing thin clothes and casual shoes.
The parents have expressed anguish that it will be a setback for the students to write the exams without eating lunch.
