37th Graduation Ceremony at Coimbatore Bharathiyar University; allowing only one parent to attend the function angers students and families

It was held yesterday under the chairmanship of Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi. Former ISRO chief Shivan was the special guest.


Coimbatore: The 37th Graduation Ceremony of Bharathiyar University was held.



Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi, Minister of Higher Education of Tamil Nadu Ponmudy and former ISRO leader Sivan were present at the event and presented medals and degrees to the students.

In this ceremony Ph.D., degree 1687-students received, the 267-year-old students who topped the university level in masters and bachelor’s degrees will also receive degrees and a gold medal.



In addition, a total of 2,04,362 students will receive degrees, including 1,504 M.Phil., 1,50,424 Bachelor's degree and 48,034 Master's degree.

Earlier, the student and accompanying parents were disappointed when it was announced that only one of the student's parents would be allowed to graduate from the university campus.



The graduating student said that no announcement was made that only one person would be allowed in with the graduate, and that many of those who came this morning were so disappointed by the sudden announcement that only one of the parents was allowed in, that the crowd was too large to pick up the parents Said.

Thus the parents and relatives of the students were waiting at the university gate.



Some of them tried to get permission from the guards there, but they were evacuated from the meeting. Parents who came said they could watch their children graduate with cold eyes and regretted going back with disappointment.
