Karpagam Institute of Technology, Coimbatore conducts webinar on Design Thinking

Coimbatore: The Karpagam Institute of Technology conducted a webinar on Friday, 22nd April.

The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Karpagam Institute of Technology in association with Institution’s Innovation Council organized a webinar on “Design Thinking of Building Integrated Concentrating Solar Photovoltaic System” on 22.04.2022.

The session was handled by Dr. R. Ramaprabha, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SSN College of Engineering, Chennai. Resource person stated the main objective of building an integrated concentrating solar photovoltaic system and explained about the solar power generating products, which are seamlessly integrated into the building envelope and part of building components such as façades & windows.

The resource person explained about the basic term used in concentrating PV such as Building integrated concentrating photovoltaic (BICPV). It is a technique whereby a concentrator with a photovoltaic (PV) module is integrated in the building envelope mainly for electrical power generation. The workshop ended with Q&A session from the students. A.Aarthi Sri from third year Electrical and Electronics Engineering student delivered the vote of thanks.
