Coimbatore: Graduation ceremony was held on Saturday, 9th April at the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education

As many as 2108 students of 2018 batch from Karpagam Academy of Higher Education were conferred their degrees at the graduation held on Saturday, 9th of April.

Dr. Rasa. Vasanthakumar, Chairman of Karpagam Educational Institutions presided over the Convocation ceremony. Periyar University Vice Chancellor Dr. P. Kuzhandaigal conferred the degrees to the graduates, after his Convocation lecture.

Speaking at the event he stated that the undeterred confidence of students turn challenges into boon. He added that undiminished interest, ability to explore new things carefully, involvement without losing interest, constant effort, indefatigableness in failure, and making use of the experiences towards building their leadership qualities will help students succeed in life.

He also said that the students should realize that constructive use of Science and technology will only protect people from the threats of such pandemic and each should find their path of interest, research that will contribute the society.

The purpose of education is that 'one should live for the soil's benefit' and the youth should strive with this motive. Adding that the youth should excel with their moral values that the country will cherish, he stated that this is the present day's need through education. "Younger generation's knowledge and creativity should should work towards the progress of human development as well, and not just scientific growth'.

Although opportunities have changed today opening doors for many to get education and graduate through universities, the awareness to use the knowledge on reasearch and improving what they have learnt is less. Opportunities have increased manifold today nationally and internationally to have their research contributions, such as patents, and intellectual development to enrich their future.

To make an effective use of this, youth should posses the clarity to know their goal, define it accurately and making the goal an effective action plan, it is also necessary to have an indefatigable willpower for execution at all times.

Countries like Japan focus on development of skills including language skills development, soft skills development, science and information, technical Skills Development and Personality Development for the younger generation. The youth of India should also develop the above skills to make the country productive.
