Coimbatore: A seven-day Faculty Development Program was held at the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education in Coimbatore.

The week-long program threw light on the sustainable techniques and strategies to be followed in Civil Engineering practices by the teachers and working professionals.

The online Faculty Development Program on “Sustainable Development in Civil Engineering†was organized to bring awareness among teaching and working professionals regarding sustainable techniques and strategies to be followed in Civil Engineering Practices. Guest speakers from reputed Institutions and Industries were invited to present their ideas on sustainable development.
Faculties from various institutions, research scholars, practitioners participated. This FDP enlightened the participant’s technical knowledge by sharing ideas on advanced sustainable development using total station and drone, conversion of biomass to sustainable energy, role of civil engineers in sustainable development, innovative materials in construction and microbial biotechnology applications in civil and environmental engineering.

The program was held on the Google Meet Platform. Dr. N Balasundaram, Professor, Head of the Department delivered his welcome address. Dr. G. K. D. Prasanna Venkatesan, Dean, Faculty of Engineering felicitated the gathering. Dr. M Natarajan, Professor, proposed the vote of thanks in the valedictory session. The program was organized by Prema K, Asst. Professor, Department of Civil Engineering.
