Coimbatore: The Minister for Higher Education, K Ponmudy announced on Monday that candidates seeking admission to Engineering, Polytechnic and Arts courses can start applying online and at the colleges from July 26 onwards.
Coimbatore: The Minister for Higher Education, K Ponmudy announced on Monday that candidates seeking admission to Engineering, Polytechnic and Arts courses can start applying online and at the colleges from July 26 onwards.
Addressing a press conference, the Minister further added that the admission process would be completed by August 24.
The decision came hours after State Government's Education Minister, Anbil Magesh Poyamozhi's announcement of Class 12 results. Minister Ponmudy had declared that colleges should begin the admission process only after the Class 12 results are declared. Meanwhile, in the new normal, Class 12 students have been given marks based on the evaluation criteria due to the Covid pandemic. as per the results, as many as 39,679 students in the State secured marks between 551-600, while 1,63,133 students scored between 501-550.
As many as 2,22,522 students scored between 451-500, while 2,08,016 and 1,39,579 students scored between 401-450 to 351-400. However, with the CBSE results yet to be announced, the Higher Education Minister Ponmudy fixed the application dates for higher education as August 24. The mark sheet for the State Board Class 12 students can be collected on July 22.
