Tuition fees not paid by the government: Students complain to Coimbatore district administration


Coimbatore: Students complain to the district administration that tuition fees was not paid by the government.

Students complained to the Collector’s Office yesterdaythat private self-funded colleges were forcing SC/ST students to pay fees. They lodged a complaint with the Collector’s Office yesterday, alleging that private, self-funded colleges were forcing ST, SC, students to pay fees due to delays in government has not yet paid the scholarship they promised during the coronavirus period.

According to GO No. 92, that government will pay the entire tuition fees of Adi Dravidar, tribal students directly to the colleges. No announcements or instructions have been made in this regard and hence a complaint was lodged with Revenue Officer Ramadurai Murugan that some colleges were harassing students threatening that only students who have paid could be admitted for the examination.

SC, ST, Welfare Union Administrator Selvakumar said, “SC, ST, tuition fees for students will be accepted by the government. The announcement was not made due to various reasons and as a result, many students are affected. The district administration should give proper instructions to the colleges regarding this."
