Students and teachers rejoice opening of schools: Government guidelines to be strictly followed
Coimbatore: Students and teachers rejoice as schools are reopening. Government guidelines are to be strictly followed to ensure student's safety.
In Coimbatore, schools were reopened today by strictly following the restrictions announced by the government.
Students and teachers started arriving at the school from 7.30 am. 653 schools open in the district including government, government aided, and private schools. The district's primary education officer said 86,000 students were in grades 10 and 12. 25 flying squads have been set up and will be monitoring schools' activity and students.
In Coimbatore, schools were opened in the urban and suburban areas and teachers and students began arriving at the government-aided Presentation Girls' High School, located on Variety Hall Road, from 8 a.m today. Lines are drawn and set up at one meter distance to follow the social distancing. Students are allowed inside the school following social distancing.
Students and teachers were allowed inside only after using the sanitizer and after wearing face masks.
In addition, students are seated in more than 30 classrooms at a rate of 25 per class.
The headmaster said he was happy with the opening of the schools and would take classes while ensuring the safety of students by following the restrictions announced by the government.
The students then said that they were happy to come to school after long days and were eager to attend classes.
