The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) announced its first-ever Visvesvaraya Best Teacher Award 2020 recently at the online ‘AICTE:Initiatives and Visvesvaraya Best Teachers Award’ Ceremony. The awards were declared and distributed virtually by the Education Minister, Govt. of India, Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' in the presence of Prof. Anil.D.Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE , Prof. M P Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE, Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE andCol B Venkat, Director (Faculty Development), AICTE.
Dr. J. Janet is one of the 12 winners among 261 contestants across the nation.The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- along with a badge and certificate of excellence.
She is a distinguished academician with 25 years of experience in the field of Computer Science Engineering, has a colossal Research and Development outcome in terms of grants, journals and patents. Additionally, she has spearheaded the National Rankings of SKCET from the forefront and attained the 83rd rank in NIRF 2020, 2nd rank in ARIIA 2020, 2nd in SWACHH Campus ranking 2019 and 2018, 2nd rank in Clean and Smart Campus 2019, 3rd rank in AICTE-USVA 2019,3rd rank in One Student-One Tree 2019 and NPTEL-11th rank in 2018 and 26th rank in 2019.
She has augmented campus revenues by procuring 6.9 crores' worth Research grants for the Institution through diverse government schemes, Technology enabled Learning with 366 smart classrooms, Effective hosting of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) four consecutive times, vibrant Industry-Academia interfaces for potential placement recruitments and establishment of Centres of Excellence and Formulation of new academic courses. These are some of her notable accolades.
