PM interacted with M.Shwetha, fourth year student of M.Sc (Software Systems) from Sri Krishna Arts and Science College, Coimbatore on Health Card Embankment. The problem statement creates a health card for the embankments. An embankment is the soil on the periphery of the natural water bodies that protects us against any water overflowing into the adjacent areas. If there is a breach in embankment, it can cause losses to lives and property. However, this can be prevented if we know when the next breach is going to occur. With the help of Machine Learning, students will study the breach pattern in embankment and predict the possible future breaches and support the government in taking preventive measures. Locals will take photos of embankments and upload them on the portal along with information of breaches. Equipped with this knowledge and backed by cutting-edge ML technology, natural disasters can be averted on time. PM encouraged Shwetha and insisted that she prepare a training model on embankment and said if convincing, it will be taken for further implementation.
Another student from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore M. Kundan explained about his work on security and surveillance. He demonstrated a chatbot that he has designed for people to lodge complaints with police without going to a police station. The major benefit is that the user does not require to go to the police station physically. This chatbot allows users to get basic information and resolution for their queries as well, thereby spreading awareness. Currently, many people don't report crimes due to stigma and fear of going to police stations. This application will be useful in reducing the rate of crime in a big way as more people could approach the police station fearlessly and could get an easy solution. PM Modi encouraged him and suggested that the chatbot should be developed in all the regional languages.
