Members of Public staged a protest in front of a TASMAC outlet in Avarampalayam, demanding that the outlet be shifted out of the busy area. Residents alleged that due to the said TASMAC outlet, crimes have increased in the neighborhood.
"The proximity of TASMAC outlet, to bus stand in the area has caused lot of inconvenience to the residents. Even women are afraid to visit a near-by temple due to tipplers gathering in the area. Even though, petitions have been sent to TASMAC officials to shift out the shop, no action was taken" said the protesters.
Following assurance given by TASMAC officials that a recommendation would be made to shift out the out let, the protesters dispersed.
