Cadres of Aadhi Tamilar Peravai, and Anti-oppression forum held.

Police arrested the cadres of Anti-Oppression forum, and Aadhi Tamilar Peravai when they tried to lay siege to the District AIADMK head office here. Demanding to release May 17 movement leaders including Thirumurugan Gandhi, who have been arrested under Goondas Act for paying homage to Srilankan Tamils, the forum members said and alleged that the Modi - Government at the Centre is imposing the “varnashrama” theory which leads to caste division in modern society.

"The AIADMK Government is dancing to the tunes of Centre and implementing various anti-people measures in the state" the cadres alleged.

The Protesters also demanded that the ban on cow - slaughter be withdrawn immediately. The cadres took out a procession and headed to AIADMK head office, when police intercepted and arrested them.
