Farmers exhorted to use nutritious soil from water bodies to improve soil fertility

Convening a meeting of district officials of revenue, Agriculture Department and DRDA District Hariharan ordered that farmer be allowed to take nutritious soil from ponds and other water bodies to improve the fertility of their land holdings.



“Farmers can apply in respective taluk offices to take vandal soil from ponds to increase the fertility of their land holdings. Every year over 4000 farmer have been benefiting under the scheme and officials are advised to encourage farmers to make use of fertile soil for better soil management. This measure would also help deepen the ponds and other water bodies and help storage of rain water “the collector said.
