Police cane anti-TASMAC protestors near Siddhapudur


Police had to use mild force to disperse the anti-TASMAC protestors who have staged a road blockade in Siddhapudur area and blocked traffic for more than two hours.

Over 100 protestors have laid siege and blocked road in the stretch between Siddhapudur - Nava India for over two hours protesting against the setting up of new TASMAC outlet in Lakshmi Nagar. The protestors demanded that the promise be given by the authorities as to the effect that no TASMAC outlet will be set up in the area. 

Police officials then caned the protestors and dispersed them as their effort to pacify them failed.

The ongoing traffic in this sector was affected for more than two hours due to road blockade.
