Leading citizens of Coimbatore, who have championed various societal causes in their respective fields were honored with Coimbatore Citizen-2018 awards instituted by Radio city here.
In a function which was organized at the Prozone mall recently, Mahendran of “Eera Nenjam”, a social organization, Miss India Sparkling Diva 2017, Sonali Pradeep, “Nakkalites”, a city-based short film group, Sivathmika, a young musical prodigy, Manikandan from Kovai Kulangal Pathukaapu Amaippu, an volunteer-based eco-action group, Anjali Jain, a champion of third gender rights, Yekananth, Founder of Coimbatore Job website, Suresh Kumar, Social Activist we're honoured with awards.
The volunteers of parenting network organization who are doing a yeoman service for the newborns who suffer without mother's milk by providing them mother's milk from a milk bank and the Coimbatore City Police, who cracked a challenging ATM burglary case in record time came in for special commendation and accoladed with awards.
Rotary Downtown are the special partners of the event in which the Coimbatoreans who have achieved in their walk of life have come in for praise and received the awards. Cultural programmes including folk music were organized on the occasion.
